Argentina passport photo size & rules
Argentina uses a distinctive square 40x40mm (4x4cm) photo format for passports and the DNI, equal to 472x472 pixels at 300 dpi. This square shape is unusual in South America and quite different from the tall European 35x45mm rectangle, so a photo prepared for a Schengen visa will not fit an Argentine requirement. Although Argentine passports and DNIs are largely captured live at RENAPER offices, printed 4x4cm photos on a white background are still requested for various procedures and consular applications abroad.
The background must be plain white and uniform, evenly lit with no shadow behind the head. Face the camera directly with a neutral expression and mouth closed, both eyes open and clearly visible, and the head centred within the square frame. Argentina asks for the whole face to be shown, uncovered from the forehead to the chin, with the head straight and not tilted. Glasses are best removed to avoid glare, and hats or head coverings are not permitted except for religious reasons with the full face visible. The photo must be recent and reflect your current appearance.
Pixohub sizes your Argentine passport or DNI photo to the square 40x40mm / 472x472 pixel format on a white background directly in your browser, so nothing is uploaded and your image stays private on your own device, and the tool is free. Requirements from RENAPER and Argentine consulates are updated over time, and the live-capture process differs from photos you supply yourself. Always confirm the current official specifications with the relevant Argentine authority or consulate before printing or submitting your photo.
